Deteriorating winter weather conditions forced Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Ark. to cancel after the third race Feb. 2.
The jockeys and track management met after the race and agreed to err on the side of caution and cancel the remainder of the nine-race card.
While track conditions were safe at the time, the weather was getting worse by the minute and the forecast was calling for heavier rain and snow later in the day, according to an Oaklawn release.
The game room and all other activities at the track were scheduled to go on as planned. The track also remained open for simulcast wagering.
Live racing at Oaklawn is set to resume Thursday, Feb. 6, with a 1:30 p.m. CST first post.
