Several Breeders' Cup horses were announced as scratched by Breeders' Cup officials and horsemen over the past 24 hours.
King's Stand Stakes (G1) winner Bradsell is out of the Nov. 4 Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1T); also-eligible Hedwig is withdrawn from the Nov. 3 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1T); and Alys Beach is scratched from the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) on that same Friday card.
Bradsell and Hedwig are listed as scratched on X by Breeders' Cup, while trainer Tom Amoss announced the scratch of Alys Beach on that platform, formerly known as Twitter.
Most Breeders' Cup scratches can be found on this thread on X. Horses at the Breeders' Cup are under tight veterinary scrutiny.
"Alys Beach galloped well this morning, but was not herself at the barn afterwards," Amoss tweeted Nov. 2. "After consulting with owner Greg Tamontin, we have submitted a trainer's scratch for the Juvenile Fillies tomorrow. We are looking forward to her future races, and journey to the 2024 (Kentucky) Oaks."
Daily Racing Form's David Grening reported that One Timer is out of the Turf Sprint, with Beer Can Man drawing into the race with Juan Hernandez to ride. One Timer had been the first also-eligible at entry time but had gained a starting opportunity when Bradsell was pulled from the race.
