Dubai World Cup runner-up Algiers was 6-1 on the morning line for the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) before he was scratched due to a minor foot issue. This says something about the quality of Autumn Stakes (G2) participant Artie's Storm , who beat Algiers last time out in the Durham Cup (G3) at Woodbine.

The Nov. 5 Autumn Stakes is for 3-year-olds and up at 1 1/16 miles on Tapeta and includes five others, including Tyson and War Bomber .
Artie's Storm, trained and owned by Paul Buttigieg, is a 5-year-old son of We Miss Artie . The gelded multiple grades stakes winner also took the 2002 Eclipse Stakes (G2) at Woodbine. Tenth in last year's Autumn, Artie's Storm is 7-5-5 from 22 starts.
Jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson: "Artie is amazing, he really is. My appreciation for Artie's Storm started years ago from the times competing against him. You appreciated him as a contender that came to play every time. You could never underestimate him. You know he's going to come running with everything he's got, every single time."
Wilson on taking down Algiers in the Durham Cup: "When we tipped out and straightened, and got first jump on Algiers, who had to work really hard, I knew we were traveling a little handier than everyone else. There was that feeling of, 'Hey, I think we've got this.'"
