Description:

You’ve surely heard of a horseman but have you ever heard of a “brony”?
“Brony” is a term used to describe a young, adult-male fan of the TV cartoon series “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”.
The name brony (plural bronies), a combination of “bro” and “pony”.
Horseman is a term used to describe someone that works in the Thoroughbred horse racing industry. This includes owners, trainers, jockeys, farm managers, exercise riders, etc.
While bronies and horsemen share a common interest - they both love the ponies -  they are very different creatures. Here’s how they differ:
1. Bronies love cartoon ponies. Horsemen love real ponies.

2. Bronies typically live in their parents’ basements. Horsemen typically live on horse farms.

3. Bronies like dressing up like “My Little Pony” ponies. Horsemen like dressing up in Barbour jackets.

4. Bronies like to sleep in until noon. Horsemen like waking up at 4 a.m.

5. Bronies like to hang out at “Brony” conventions. Horsemen like to hang out at racetracks.

6. Bronies like to watch the cartoon “My Little Pony”. Horsemen like to watch live horse racing.

7. Bronies like to buy and sell $5 “My Little Pony” toys. Horsemen like to buy and sell million-dollar Thoroughbred racehorses.

8. Bronies like to believe in magic. Horsemen believe in “Racing Gods”.

9. Bronies like to read stuff in Brony chat rooms on the Internet. Horsemen like to read Thoroughbred Daily News.

10. Every year Bronies look forward to “BronyCon”. Every year Horsemen look forward to the Kentucky Derby.

Regardless of their differences, both Bronies and horsemen can agree that ponies are pretty special.
