Although Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course had seven race cards cancelled because of inclement weather during the month of January, the Grantville, Pa., track saw handle exceed $1 million on each of the 11 days when racing was conducted.
It was the first time in Penn National's 43-year history that every live program conducted in a single month reached the seven-figure mark, according to a release.
Average total daily all-sources handle for the month was $1,170,503, just short of last January's record-setting average daily live handle of $1,260,173.
Penn National's next live card is scheduled for Feb. 5, with post time at 6 p.m. (EST).
"Our horsemen, jockeys, employees and fans braved some very difficult elements this past month. It is always satisfying to have some positive news come out of those trying situations," said racing secretary David Bailey.
