The Nov. 5 $150,000 Nashua Stakes at Aqueduct Racetrack saw a field of five juveniles contest the one-mile main track test, with the race coming down to eventual 3/4-length-winner Where's Chris ($41.60) and race pacesetter Book'em Danno .
A quarter sped by in :23.50, half in :47.47, followed by three quarters in 1:12.02, and closed at 1:36.75 over a fast track.
Billal finished third, followed by Private Desire and Yo Yo Candy .
Jockey Issac Castillo was aboard the winner.
The Twirling Candy colt was saddled in his third start by Rick Dutrow Jr. for owner Nice Guys Stables. Winning his first time out, Where's Chris was third Oct. 8 in the Futurity Stakes to Book'em Danno in his previous trip to the post. The Nashua ended a three-race win streak for that rival.
Later on the card, in the filly equivalent to the Nashua, the $150,000 Tempted, Shimmering Allure circled the field en route to a three-length victory.
Jockey Junior Alvarado, who was back riding out East after landing two Breeders' Cup wins over the weekend with Just F Y I (Juvenile Fillies, G1) and Cody's Wish (Dirt Mile, G1), piloted the Shimmering Allure ($6.10) to her first stakes win.
Sitting well off the pace early, Shimmering Allure, fourth in the Alcibiades (G1) last time out, closed stoutly to get the mile in a final time of 1:37.87.
Shimmering Allure is trained by Kenny McPeek for Walking L Thoroughbreds. She is the first stakes winner for first crop sire Enticed .
Vino Rogue and Perfectly Wicked completed the trifecta.
