Description:

Put down your heavy foundations, thick eyeliner, and dark lipsticks because when it comes to makeup this spring, less is more. I am super excited about the upcoming makeup trends for the season. These looks are easy to achieve and require just a few items.
When writing this post, I turned to my talented friend, makeup artist extraordinaire, Celeste Houser. Celeste is co-owner of Make Me Up NOLA, a full-service makeup studio in Uptown New Orleans and is my “go-to” when it comes to makeup tips and products. A makeup artist since 2004, Celeste works with various celebrity clients and makes the on-air talent at CNN, Fox News Network, and more look beautiful on camera.

I’m so excited to share with you Celeste’s favorite looks for spring. Read below for tips and inspiration to help you shine at the races!
Spring Makeup Trends:
Dewey Face. This perfect spring look can be accomplished by using a more sheer foundation (BB or CC creams) with a luminizing primer.  This look is fresh and natural, perfect as we move into the warmer months.
Celeste’s pick: Glominerals has just introduced a new Luxe liquid foundation that gives more coverage but is very light on the skin and more dewey than their full on liquid foundation.

Shimmery Eyes.  Let your eyes shine this spring with a hint of shimmer. This look can be used during the day and added onto for the evening. Everything from neutral to bright and sassy…have fun with it!
Celeste’s picks: Too Faced and Smashbox give a wide range of color with a hint of shimmer.

Bold Lips. Time to make a statement with your lips!  Bold lips with a more neutral eye will be big this year.
Celeste’s pick: Kevyn Aucoin has introduced all new lipsticks in beautiful color. Also Smash Box’s Lip Enhancing Gloss is a great choice to pump up the volume.

Bold Brows. More defined eyebrows, the thicker the better.  This spring, we are getting away from the slim brow.
Celeste’s pick: Too Faced has a brow kit including tweezers, brow pencil, and a collection of stencils to make any brow look perfect. They are also introducing a new brow powder for those of us who prefer powder over pencil.

Contouring Eyes. A more defined eye will be big this spring. You can achieve this look for the eyes by using concealers and highlighters.  Must be blended well, but a contoured eye will really pop.

Celeste’s picks: Too Faced is introducing a new highlighting pencil just for the brows. Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancers can also be used to contour the eye and brow area.
