A pair of popular, grade 1-winning Stonestreet Stables homebreds—Clairiere  and Pauline's Pearl —have been officially retired and returned to Stonestreet to prepare for breeding season. The news was announced Nov. 8 via a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Clairiere, by Stonestreet's own Curlin   out of three-time grade 1 winner Cavorting , won grade 1 races at 3 (the 2021 Cotillion Stakes, G1), 4 (the 2022 Ogden Phipps Stakes, G1), and 5 (the Apple Blossom Handicap, G1, and the Phipps). She earned $3,266,392 while compiling a record of 8-6-3 from 22 starts. In her final start she closed for fourth behind Idiomatic  in the Nov. 4 Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1).

Pauline's Pearl, by Tapit   out of Barbara Banke's beloved Hot Dixie Chick  (campaigned by Banke's Grace Stables), got her grade 1 in the 2022 La Troienne Stakes (G1) at Churchill Downs on Kentucky Oaks Day. She was a six-time graded stakes winner, also from 3 to 5. She leaves the track with a record of 8-3-3 from 20 starts and earnings of $2,146,800. Pauline's Pearl's final outing was September's Locust Grove Stakes (G3) at Churchill, where she was an even fourth in a race won by Search Results
