Claiborne Farm has set the 2024 free for its regally bred, top 15 freshman sire Demarchelier   at $7,500 with a live foal stands and nurses guarantee, the farm announced Nov. 9.

The only son of top international stallion and sire of sires Dubawi  standing in Kentucky has made a quick start with his first 2-year-olds. He has 10 career winners to date, including two stakes horses from just 27 starters so far. His top performers include winner De Sica , who was runner-up in the Prix de Conde (G3), and winner Blue Creek , who placed in a stakes at Laurel Park and another stakes during the Belmont at Big A meet.

Demarchelier (GB) ranks among the top 10 in his sire class by number of winners and is co-ranked with Flameaway   as the leading freshman sire by number of turf winners with seven.

Raced by Peter Brant, Demarchelier won three of four career starts, including the Pennine Ridge Stakes (G3T) at Belmont Park, defeating Henley's Joy  and Social Paranoia , who finished first and second, respectively, in the Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes (G1T). Demarchelier also started in the Belmont Derby but took a bad step during the race and had to be pulled up.

The sire is out of the Sadler's Wells mare Loveisallyouneed, who is full sister to group 1 winners Yesterday (IRE) and Quarter Moon (IRE). His family also produced 2023 Champagne Stakes (G1) winner Timberlake .
