Arcangelo wins the Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Course

Belmont Stakes (G1) and Travers Stakes (G1) winner Arcangelo   will enter stud at Lane's End for $35,000 with a live foal stands and nurses guarantee, the farm announced Nov. 8. Also announced was the fee for three-time grade 1 winner Up to the Mark  , who will enter stud next year at $25,000 with the same guarantee.

Arcangelo, a son of Arrogate out of the Tapit   mare Modeling , is a three-time graded stakes winner, having won the Peter Pan Stakes (G3) prior to taking the Belmont. In the Belmont and Travers, he earned 100 and 103 Equibase Speed Figures, respectively. Heat detected in a rear hoof prevented the colt from starting in the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1), leading him to be retired with $1,754,900 in career earnings.

Bred in Kentucky by Don Alberto, Arcangelo hails from the family of 2007 Broodmare of the Year Better Than Honour, the dam of Belmont winners Jazil  and Rags to Riches . Arcangelo is a strong contender for Eclipse champion 3-year-old male honors.

Up to the Mark, a 4-year-old son of Not This Time  , won three consecutive grade 1 stakes and earned triple-digit Equibase Speed Figures in every start this year. He was runner-up in the Breeders' Cup Turf (G1T) against a deep field of European runners and is a leading contender for the Eclipse champion male turf horse title. His dam, Belle's Finale, is a Ghostzapper   daughter out of grade 1 winner Capote Belle.
