Our Shot Hopes Turf Success Continues at Aqueduct

After falling short last time out, Our Shot will take his shot at the Turf Sprint Championship Stakes Nov. 18 at Aqueduct. 

Despite finishing off the board just once in 2023, the gelded son of Kantharos has something to prove after finishing two lengths back in the Oct. 7 Woodford Stakes (G2T) at Keeneland, his first run in graded company. 

He's done well on turf winning three of his seven career starts on the surface. He's run almost exclusively on turf dating back to his final start of 2022. All but one of eight starts from that point have been on turf. In those races, Our Shot is 3-2-1 from seven starts. If you include his lone dirt race, he's come out on top 50% of the time. 

Among those challenging Our Shot is Alogon . The son of California Chrome has raced on turf in eight of his last 10 starts, winning three times. 

Should the race be moved to the main track, keep an eye on Durante , who is fresh off of his first graded stakes triumph. He nearly went gate-to-wire in the Bold Ruler Stakes (G3).
