America’s Best Racing and DerbyJackpot team up to provide horseplayers with their best bets of the weekend in a regular feature blog that will run on Fridays.
Each week, one of our crack handicappers - Jose Contreras, Dan Tordjman, Victoria Garofalo or Cory Moelis – will provide at least one “Best Bet” of the weekend, ideal for a win bet.
The post also will include some combination of additional bets for the weekend.
For some posts, our handicappers will try to identify a longshot play of the weekend, a nice opportunity to swing for the fences on a win bet or to take a shot with a show bet.
Our handicappers also will look for strong exacta plays for the weekend or occasionally try to spot a nice opportunity to bet a trifecta or superfecta.
Place your bets at DerbyJackpot. It's the easiest and most fun online horse betting site out there. Races open for betting about five minutes before post time. Place your bets and you can walk away with some extra cash in your pocket.

Exacta Box (Gonzo Bet)
Belmont Park, Race 5 - 30th Running of the Poker Stakes (G3), 3:24 p.m. ET
With an incredibly talented and competitive field of older turf horses, the one-mile Grade 3 Poker is shaping up to be quite the contest of skill. Looks like a great betting race so I'm going with a three-horse exacta box.
#6 IL CAMPIONE: Ridden by jockey Irad Ortiz, Il Campione will finally be making his awaited North American debut for trainer Chad Brown. He's gone off as the favorite in every race of his life and has won eight out of those 10 starts.
#7 IRONICUS: I loved Ironicus prior to the Longines Dixie on Preakness Day at Pimlico and after his 2 3/4-length victory I can’t help but love him here too. He took a class jump into stakes company last time and proved that he could run with them. Ridden by jockey Javier Castellano for trainer ‘Shug’ McGaughey I expect to see him closing late and be in contention for this Grade 3.
#1 ALL INCLUDED: Undefeated in his all of his turf starts, All Included is making his graded stakes debut. He’s jumping up in company like Ironicus did in his previous race, but Hall of Famers trainer Todd Pletcher and jockey John Velazquez know how to win!
Best Bet (Win Bet/Monkey Bet)
Belmont Park, Race 8, 4:57 p.m. ET
#9 A P JOHNSON: This filly looks to have the best form coming into the race. She's got the best speed figures, is 1 for 1 at this distance and has hit the board in two of her three previous races at Belmont. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her take this field.

Best Bet (Win Bet/Monkey Bet)
 Belmont Park, Race 5 , 3:24 p.m. ET
#12 ANALYSIS: I've been looking forward to seeing this George Weaver trainee finally make his 2015 debut and this this race may be just what he needs. It's worth noting (because it’s incredible awesome) that when he's not running in races he's prepping for his future career as a hunter/jumper.
*Side note: I may be biased, but the last time he won I was in the winner's circle at Saratoga so I'm thinking I'm going to have to do that again on Sunday at Belmont. -- Another 'betting superstition' to add to Dan's already awesome ‘Quirky Betting Superstitions’ blog.
Exacta Box (Gonzo Bet)
Belmont Park, Race 8 - The Wild Applause Stakes, 4:57 p.m. ET
Worth nothing that Grade 1 dirt winner #7 Angela Renee is making her turf debut in this race.
#6 PARTISAN POLITICS: Coming off a layoff of over five months after running sixth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, Partisan Politics will be ridden by jockey Javier Castellano for trainer Chad Brown and could pull off a win. With the jockey-trainer duo winning 29% together there’s no doubt they know how to find their way to the winner’s circle.
#5 CELESTINE: Coming into this race on a three-race win streak, Celestine and jockey Rajiv Maragh (who’s been on for the last two mounts/wins) will try and add a fourth win to that resume. One-for-one at both the track and distance and on the board for all her turf starts, last time out Celestine beat Sunset Glow who ran second to Lady Eli in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf last year at Santa Anita.
