Triple Crown winner American Pharoah is pegged at 3-5 odds, with Television Games Network and parent company Betfair, to stand for a fee between $175,000 and $200,000 during his first season at Coolmore's Ashford Stud.
The colt is offered at 4-1 to stand for more than $200,000 and 3-1 to stand for less than $175,000.
American Pharoah's sire, Pioneerof the Nile , stands for a 2015 fee of $60,000 at WinStar Farm near Versailles, Ky.
A fee of $175,000 to $200,000 would place American Pharoah as one of the most expensive first-season sires in history. The Zayat Stables-owned colt is also priced at 3-1 to end the season unbeaten by Betfair, if he races twice more.
"It was a major coup for Coolmore to secure American Pharoah and a lot of discussion will go into pitching him at the right price for his first two years, but at between $175,000 and $200,000, they should have breeders queuing up to service their mares—especially if he remains unbeaten this year," Betfair spokesman Barry Orr said in published reports.
After the Oct. 31 Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I), it is expected that American Pharoah will move into the next chapter of his career.
TVG said in a press release the Haskell Invitational (gr. I) Aug. 2 at Monmouth Park is the 4-5 favorite for American Pharoah's next race.
"American Pharoah won the nation's heart when he crossed the finish line at the Belmont Stakes (gr. I), to end the 37-year wait for a Triple Crown champion," said Kip Levin, chief executive officer of TVG. "His time in the spotlight is hardly over, however, as he is expected to hit the track once again. The real question on everyone's minds is, 'Where will he race next?'"
TVG's racing analysts consulted with Betfair to get the odds for each of the following races to be American Pharoah's next outing:
