Jackson Racing's Touch of Trouble became the first black-type stakes winner for Hill 'n' Dale Farms stallion World of Trouble in capturing the Nov. 23. Accion de Gracias (Thanksgiving) Stakes at Camarero Race Track in Puerto Rico.
Touch of Trouble, a 2-year-old filly, rated in fourth under J. C. Diaz Jr., moved into third on the turn and stormed to the front in the stretch. She won by 1 1/2 lengths, completing seven furlongs over a muddy track in 1:25.22. The Carole Donaldson trainee paid $21.30 to win.
She is now 2-0-0 in three starts with earnings of $48,322. After a debut victory at Camarero Sept. 3, she had been fourth in the Oct. 8 Clasico Dia de La Raza Stakes there.
Bred in Kentucky by Boca Horse, the winner is out of the Gold Token mare Lovely Daniella . She was a $15,000 purchase by Greg Jackson from the Eaton Sales consignment at the 2022 September Yearling Sale at Keeneland.
A dual-surface grade 1 winner, World of Trouble is currently the 12th-ranked freshman sire in North America by progeny earnings. His other top performers include Shea D World , stakes placed in the Tyro Stakes this summer at Monmouth Park, and Happy World and Rosie Jeeks , maiden special weight winners at Remington Park and the Belmont at the Big A meet, respectively.
World of Trouble (Kantharos ) stands next year for a $5,000 fee.
