One of the stars from A&E’s popular reality show “Duck Dynasty” is jumping into the horse racing industry, Daily Racing Form reported Thursday.
Cast member Si Robertson is partnering with Welsey Melcher and Ashley Howard Nelson, the sister of cast member Korie Robertson, to race a 2-year-old filly.
The filly will be named Sithechristmas Elf, according to DRF, in honor of Robertson and is currently training a Melcher’s Double Infinity Ranch in Texas.
“Duck Dynasty” has broken many ratings records for cable television and A&E. The show became the most-watched nonfiction cable series in history when 11.8 million viewers tuned in to watch the premiere of the fourth season.
The show had broken records with previous episodes, including an hour-long Christmas special in 2012, which became - at the time - the most-watched A&E episode of all time.
More than $400 million worth of merchandise has been sold since the show’s first episode on March 21, 2012.
