In conjunction with the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association, Wanamaker's has released their third annual Pennsylvania-Bred Sale with 33 horses cataloged. Offerings range from short yearlings to broodmares in foal, and everything in between.
Bidding will open Jan. 7 at 9 a.m. ET and close Jan. 11, with the first listing set to close at 5 p.m. Subsequent listings will close in three-minute increments. Detailed information on the buying process can be found at wanamakers.com/buy.
Wanamaker's past PA-bred sales have produced multiple horses of racing age who went on to out-earn their purchase price. Dixie Cannonball, who sold for $5,500 to Mark Salvaggio, has gone on to win three races since last year's sale.
"We are delighted by the continued enthusiastic response to our third annual PA-Bred Sale," remarked Wanamaker's CEO Liza Hendriks. "This sale provides an excellent platform for local owners and breeders to showcase their horses in a state with a robust program, particularly in anticipation of the upcoming PA-Sired PA-Bred Stallion Series for 2-year-olds in 2024 and 3-year-olds in 2025."
