Sam Houston Cancels Monday Card

Sam Houston Race Park canceled racing for Jan. 15, due to inclement weather conditions and safety for all, the track announced Monday afternoon. The facility along the North Sam Houston Parkway will be closed Monday for simulcast wagering as well.
Weather forecasts called for freezing rain throughout Monday and temperatures expected to drop into the low 20s in the evening with the wind gusting to 40 mph. Freezing temperatures are expected to continue until Jan. 17 when sunny skies and temperatures in the low 50s are projected.
Live racing is scheduled to return on Friday, Jan. 19, with updates to be posted on shrp.com.
