Spendthrift Farm stallion and 2021 Eclipse champion sprinter Jackie's Warrior sired his first reported foal Jan. 15 when a filly out of grade 3-placed winner Upset Brewing arrived at War Horse Place.
Chester Thomas' Allied Racing Stable raced Upset Brewing, who was runner-up in four stakes, including the 2017 Debutante Stakes and third in the Winning Colors Stakes (G3) on her way to earning $281,892. The Jackie's Warrior filly is the second foal out of the mare, who produced a Dialed In colt in 2022 named Butcher Holler.
Upset Brewing is by Justin Phillip out of the winning Malibu Moon mare Tipperary Moon, who also produced grade 3-placed stakes winner Line Change (Toccet). Tipperary Moon is a full sister to 2003 Best Pal Stakes (G2) and Hollywood Juvenile Championship Stakes (G3) winner Perfect Moon.
Jackie's Warrior is a 6-year-old son of Maclean's Music out of the winning A.P. Five Hundred mare Unicorn Girl.
Raced by J. Kirk and Judy Robison, Jackie's Warrior won grade 1 stakes each year from 2-4. At 3, he won four graded stakes and placed in two others among his seven starts, including the H. Allen Jerkens Memorial Stakes (G1). His other grade 1 wins include the Hopeful (G1), Champagne (G1), Churchill Downs (G1) stakes, and Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (G1). For his career, he won 12 of 18 starts and earned $2,959,164.
