Early Voting

Rockridge Stud announced Jan. 18 the first reported foal by 2022 Preakness Stakes (G1) winner Early Voting  , who is standing at Taylor Made Stallions for the 2024 breeding season.

The New York-bred filly born Jan. 17 is the first foal out of the Outwork   daughter Credit Suspended, who is a half brother to stakes winner No Mo' Spending  (Uncle Mo  ) and stakes-placed winners Security Code  (Frosted  ) and Blewitt  (Uncle Mo). Credit Suspended is out of the grade 3-placed winner Stopspendingmaria  (Montbrook).

Early Voting, a 5-year-old son of Gun Runner  , won three of six career starts, which included winning the 2022 Withers Stakes (G3) and finishing second in the Wood Memorial Stakes (G2). He retired to stud with $1,372,500 in earnings.

Early Voting started his stud career at Ashford Stud where he bred 191 mares, of which 120 are confirmed in foal. Toward the end of the 2023 breeding season, however, some concerning issues arose. He was eventually diagnosed with the rare condition of anejaculatory syndrome—the inability to ejaculate despite displaying all the other attributes of a healthy libido.

The stallion has been treated by a group of New Zealand reproductive specialists led by Dr. Padraig "Paddy" O'Casaigh and returned to covering mares. The results of pregnancy scans for those first mares are expected soon.
