Adverse weather conditions from last weekend's winter storm and an ongoing forecast for rain throughout the Mid-Atlantic region led the Maryland Jockey Club to cancel racing on Jan. 26 at Laurel Park.
The Maryland track scrapped its scheduled three days of racing last week Jan. 19-21 due to the storm and bitter cold.
Racing at Laurel is scheduled to return Jan. 27 with a special 11:40 a.m. ET first post time. The 11-race program is co-headlined by the $100,000 Spectacular Bid Stakes for 3-year-olds and $100,000 Xtra Heat Stakes for 3-year-old fillies.
In addition to numerous tracks that did not race as scheduled this past weekend, Parx Racing canceled racing in the Mid-Atlantic region Jan. 22-23.
