The Jockey Club of Canada announced Feb. 5 the finalists for the 2023 Sovereign Awards honoring Canada's champions and recognizing their outstanding achievements in Canadian Thoroughbred racing and breeding.
The winner of each category, along with Canada's Horse of the Year for 2023, will be announced during the 49th Annual Sovereign Award ceremony the evening of April 18 at Paramount Eventspace in Woodbridge, Ontario. The ceremony winds up the 50th Anniversary celebrations for the Jockey Club of Canada.

The 2023 Media Sovereign Awards finalists, the winner of the Awards for Outstanding Groom and Outstanding Off-track Worker, and this year's E. P. Taylor Award and Special Sovereign Award winners will be announced in the coming days.
The winner in each of the three Media Sovereign Awards categories will also be announced during the 49th Annual Sovereign Awards ceremony.
