David Wade, as agent, landed the highest-priced yearling filly on the opening day of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale, going to $290,000 for a daughter of Justify   out of the family of 2013 Broodmare of the Year Take Charge Lady .

The bay filly (Hip 224) consigned by Blandford Stud will be aimed for Fasig-Tipton's The Saratoga Sale in August, the sales company's select yearling auction in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Wade, who is the general manager of Northview Stallion Station, said Northview with the Golden family's Sycamore Hall Thoroughbreds have been looking for high-quality yearlings to specifically pinhook at the Saratoga sale for a couple of years.

"She is an attractive horse that we feel will develop very well by August," Wade said.

Regarding the quality of the progeny by Justify, he added: "They are robust horses and most are pretty correct. They've got bone, and this one looks like an athlete. She's a nice walker."

The yearling is out of Shannon Faith, a daughter of Discreet Cat. Her second dam is Felicita, the dam of Take Charge Lady, who produced grade 1 winner and champion Will Take Charge and grade 1 winners Take Charge Indy   and As Time Goes By.

Wade said the filly's price was in line with expectations.

"At this end of the market, it is always competitive," he said.
