National Treasure wins the Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes at Gulfstream Park

National Treasure  maintained his hold on the top spot in the latest National Thoroughbred Racing Association's Top Thoroughbred Poll.

The 4-year-old son of Quality Road   is pointed toward the $20 million Saudi Cup Feb. 24 after edging Senor Buscador  by a neck in the Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1).

However, the national media voting saw National Treasure's lead over White Abarrio , who is also headed to King Abdulaziz Racecourse, shrink slightly from a week ago by six points (287-250). White Abarrio, winner of the Nov. 4 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1), did lose one first-place vote. His 10 trail National Treasure's 18.

Senor Buscador, who narrowly lost to National Treasure Jan. 27 at Gulfstream Park, is also headed to the Saudi Cup. He sits in the third spot after jumping Idiomatic .

Idiomatic, the recently crowned champion older dirt female, hasn't raced since winning the 2023 Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1). She garnered two first-place votes and is one of two mares in the top 10 (Didia ).

Saudi Crown  maintains the fifth spot.

Meanwhile, not much changed in the Top 3-Year-Old Poll as Nysos  holds a commanding lead with 310 points and 31 first-place votes. The only change in the top 10 is Maymun , who defeated Imagination  by a neck in an allowance optional claiming race at Santa Anita Park Feb. 11, taking over the final spot.

The polls cover racing performances through Feb. 11 and can be found here
