Sierra Leone Moves Up in Derby Future Wager Pool

Sierra Leone wins the Risen Star Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course

With the Kentucky Derby (G1) 11 weeks away, the pari-mutuel field of "All Other 3-year-olds" closed as the 5-1 favorite in Pool 4 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager and the Feb. 17 Risen Star Stakes (G2) winner Sierra Leone  was the 6-1 second choice. 

Other horses who attracted interest from bettors: Dornoch  (9-1), the Remsen Stakes (G2) winner and full brother to 2023 Kentucky Derby winner Mage  ; Champagne Stakes (G1) winner and Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) fourth Timberlake  (15-1), who is the morning line favorite in the Rebel Stakes (G2) at Oaklawn Park this weekend; Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) third Locked  (16-1); and champion 2-year-old male and Holy Bull Stakes (G3) third Fierceness  (16-1).
