Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital is set to host the Third Rood & Riddle International Podiatry Conference on April 19-20 at the Rood & Riddle Podiatry Center located on Georgetown Road in Lexington.

This educational seminar is tailored for veterinarians and farriers, aiming to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange in equine podiatry. The conference will explore key areas such as biomechanics, laminitis, and the latest innovations in the field. Distinguished speakers from the equine industry, including Andrew van Eps, BVSc., PhD., MACVSc., DACVIM, from the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center, will lead lectures.

Dr. van Eps, renowned for his research in laminitis, seeks to unravel the fundamental mechanisms behind various forms of the condition to advance prevention and treatment strategies.

A veterinarian, associate professor and farrier, Jenny Hagen, DVM, PhD, CF joins him, bringing expertise in equine orthopedics, rehabilitation, and farriery.

In addition to her veterinary and academic credentials, Dr. Jenny Hagen brings a wealth of experience from her tenure at Leipzig University. She conducted her doctoral thesis and post-doctoral research there, establishing the esteemed research group "Equine Biomechanics and Orthopedics." Her work in this field has significantly contributed to the understanding and advancement of equine orthopedics.
