Milky Way Farm's grade 1-placed, multiple graded stakes winner Tizamagician sired his first reported foal Feb. 26 when a filly out of the winning Orb daughter Esfera was born at Milky Way Farm near Temecula, Calif.
Starlene and David Justice's Vendetta Racing Stables bred and own the filly that is the third foal out of Esfera, who is out of the Pleasant Tap mare Tap Mate, a full sister to grade 1-placed, grade 2 winner Tap Day. Tap Mate is also a half sister to Street Mate (Street Cry), who has produced grade 1 winner Bell's the One and grade 3 winner King Cause .
"She is a wonderful, strong foal," said Milky Way Farm owner Linda Madsen. "She was running around her stall five hours after her birth. We are delighted with her."
Esfera is booked to return to Tizamagician this year.
A 7-year-old son of California-bred two-time Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) winner and 2000 Horse of the Year Tiznow , Tizamagician entered stud at Milky Way in 2023 with career earnings of $741,851. He won or placed in nine graded stakes while racing from 2 to 5, getting victories in the Tokyo City Cup Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita Park and Cougar II Stakes (G3) at Del Mar. Trained by Richard Mandella, he also was runner-up in the 2021 Pacific Classic Stakes (G1).
