With a narrow victory in his maiden special weight debut June 25 at Belmont Park, the colt Lucky Lurie became the first winner for stallion Girolamo  .

Girolamo, a son of A.P. Indy out of grade III winner Get Lucky, by Mr. Prospector, who stands for $5,000 at Darley near Lexington, has his first crop of 2-year-olds on the track this year. Winner of the 2010 Vosburgh Stakes (gr. I), Girolamo is a full brother to grade III winner Accelerator; grade II winner Daydreaming, dam of grade I winner Imagining; and to Supercharger, dam of Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner and sire Super Saver  ; and half brother to stakes winner Harborage.

Lucky Lurie prevailed as the 6-5 favorite in Thursday's five-furlong main-track race for 2-year-old New York-breds by a neck over Love That Jazz. Lucky Lurie is out of the Freud   mare Holy Freud.

Bred in New York by Anthony Grey, Lucky Lurie races for Alan Brodsky, who purchased her for $50,000 from the Sequel Stallions New York consignment to the 2014 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale of preferred New York-bred yearlings.
