Add Laurel Park and Penn National to the list of tracks that have canceled racing Friday, Feb. 14, due to a winter storm that hit the Northeast.

Including Feb. 13, the cancellation is the fourth in 2014 at the Baltimore, Md., track. The Maryland Jockey Club said Laurel and Pimlico Race Course would both remain open Friday for simulcasting and that the racing office would be open to accept entries for the Feb. 17 President's Day holiday card.

Hollwyood Casino at Penn National Race Course has canceled racing both Feb. 14-15 as the track digs out from Thursday's winter snowstorm that dropped more than a foot of new snow in most areas of Central Pennsylvania.

Penn National has experienced 15 canceled live race dates already this year due to weather conditions.

"It's been a very rough winter for our horsemen, fans, and the track," said race secretary David Bailey. "Long range weather forecasts call for temperatures in the 40's next week, so we are all hoping that we can get back on our regular schedule next Wednesday."

Previously, Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races had announced cancellation of racing Feb. 13-15.

Citing the ongoing frozen condition of its Polytrack surface, Turfway Park in Florence, Ky., previously announced there would be no live racing there Feb. 14-16.
