

Reports of smoke inside Pimlico Race Course after the May 17 Black-Eyed Susan Day card brought firefighting units to the Baltimore, Md., track on the eve of the Preakness Stakes (G1).
The building was evacuated, but a firefighter said it was a, "small incident," and nothing was on fire. Firefighters brought circulating fans into the building for extra ventilation.
According to a track spokesperson, a dryer on one of the lower levels where they do linen started smoking. The spokesperson added: "There was a little haze on the first floor, but the incident is not expected to have any impact on the May 18 Preakness Stakes (G1) card."
