Tough Field Drawn for Penny Memorial at Parx

A strong field of 10 fillies and mares has been entered for the $200,000 Dr. James Penny Memorial Handicap (gr. IIIT) July 4 at Parx Racing.

The Penny Memorial, with a probable post time of 4:04 p.m. EDT,  is the eighth race on a nine-race card that begins at 12:55 p.m.

Amerman Racing's Coffee Clique, winner of the Just a Game Handicap (gr. IT) in June 2014 at Belmont Park, ran sixth in the same race June 6 this year. The 5-year-old Medaglia d'Oro   mare finished second and third in her two previous starts in grade II company this year and seeks her first win of 2015 for trainer Brian Lynch.

Manuel Franco is named to ride the 120-pound highweight in the 1 1/16-mile turf event from post 7.

Testa Rossi, a 4-year-old Dr. Fong filly owned by Thomas Coleman, Doheny Racing Stable, and Head of Plains Partners, was placed first in the Lambholm South Endeavor Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Tampa Bay Downs in her 2015 debut, and subsequently finished in graded stakes at Santa Anita Park and Belmont Park. Testa Rossi, to be ridden by Kendrick Carmouche at 117 pounds from post 8, is trained by Chad Brown, who has eight wins in 16 starts at Parx this season.
