In the third episode of 2 Guys and a Classic, Joe Kristufek and Bram Weinstein focus on the Road to the Breeders’ Cup Classic and the field for this Saturday’s Grade 2 Suburban Handicap at Belmont Park.
The 1 ¼-mile Breeders’ Cup Classic prep race attracted six horses, including 2014 Belmont Stakes winner Tonalist and 2013 Preakness Stakes third-place finisher Mylute. The Suburban and the Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes will be televised live on NBC with coverage beginning at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 4, as part of Belmont Park’s Stars & Stripes card.
Please note: The Suburban Handicap is NOT a Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series “Win and You’re In” race but it does serve as a prep race for the Breeders’ Cup Classic. The Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes is a Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” race for the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf.
