Offering shares in Zarak and Hello Youmzain , the Arqana Online Pop-Up Sale took place July 12. The two shares were sold for a total of €870,000 (US$948,522, €1=US$1.09)
Changing hands for €710,000 (US$774,273), a share in the top Aga Khan Studs' stallion went the way of celebrity chef and American owner Bobby Flay. The leading sire in terms of black-type winners in France, Zarak has already produced this year's classic winner Metropolitan , victorious in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains (G1), as well as Haya Zark and Zagrey that took the Prix Ganay (G1) and the Grosser Preis von Baden (G1), respectively.
Zarak is also the sire of Zarakem , a group winner and runner-up in the Prince of Wales's Stakes (G1) at Royal Ascot, where he was given a rating of 120.
The share in Hello Youmzain sold for €160,000 in favor of an anonymous buyer. A group winner at 2 and a group 1 winner at 3 and 4, he was one of the best European sprinters on the track. His first crop is now 2, and he has already produced Coventry Stakes (G2) at Royal Ascot runner-up Electrolyte .
