A striking chestnut Maclean's Music colt (Hip 170) took the top spot in Fasig-Tipton's The July Sale after selling July 9 for $500,000 to John Stewart's Resolute Bloodstock.
Gainesway sold the colt on behalf of Bridlewood Farm, which bred and raised him. The colt is out of the Speightstown daughter Jotown, who is out of grade 1-placed, grade 2 winner Jojo Warrior (Pioneerof the Nile). Jojo Warrior is a half sister to grade 1 winner A Z Warrior (Bernardini), grade 3 winner E Z Warrior (Exploit), and multiple stakes winner J Z Warrior (Harlan's Holiday).
"I personally thought he was the type of colt that could be a potential sale topper and I hope we stay at that level. Needless to say it is an awesome result," said George Isaacs, general manager of Bridlewood Farm near Ocala, Fla. "The mare's first foal, a Twirling Candy colt, won first time out and this colt is equally as nice, or nicer."
Spiralizer , the first foal out of Jotown, won by two lengths June 13 at Churchill Downs for owner Wathnan Racing and trainer Steve Asmussen.
