Paramount Prince wins the Dominion Day Stakes at Woodbine

Michael Langlois and Gary Barber's King's Plate winner Paramount Prince  attempts to continue his reign over the Woodbine synthetic as he breaks from the outside of a nine-horse field in the CA$175,000 Seagram Cup (G2) July 27.

The Ontario-bred son of Society's Chairman , despite all his success last year, added the first graded win to his résumé with an authoritative 3 3/4-length victory in the June 29 Dominion Day Stakes (G3).

Cutting back a half-furlong to 1 1/16 miles Saturday, the Canadian champion 3-year-old male of 2023 will face the three horses that finished directly behind him in the Dominion Day: Stanley House , Wicked Django , and stablemate Palazzi , who two starts back won the Eclipse Stakes (G2).

Money Supply  travels north of the border where a victory would give him a stakes win on all three racing surfaces this season.

Half to Shirl's Speight Takes Class Step in Ontario Colleen

One race prior, a large field of 13 3-year-old fillies compete for CA$135,000 in the Ontario Colleen Stakes (G3T) over one mile.

Charles Fipke's Ready for Shirl , a half sister to grade 1 winner Shirl's Speight , makes her stakes debut. The More Than Ready filly debuted impressively at Keeneland April 13 with a 3 1/2-length win and enters off a solid allowance victory over Miss Roberts  on the Woodbine turf June 22.
