Keeneland has increased the purses for five stakes races during the 2024 Fall Meet by a combined total of $800,000. This brings the total purse for all 22 stakes races held over the 17-day meet to a record-setting $9.85 million. All fall meet stakes include KTDF contributions.
The increases are led by $300,000 to double the value of the Bryan Station (G3T), a race for 3-year-olds at 1 mile on the turf, to $600,000. Also increasing in value are the Coolmore Turf Mile (G1T), increased $250,000 to $1.25 million; Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1T) Presented by Dixiana, increased $150,000 to $750,000; and two stakes that were upgraded this year: the Bank of America Valley View (G2T), hiked $50,000 to $350,000, and the Perryville (G3T), raised $50,000 to $300,000.
The Oct. racing season opens with fall stars weekend, which offers $5.8 million in stakes purses and features eight stakes included in the "Breeders' Cup Challenge Series: Win and You're In." Winners will earn automatic starting positions and free entry into the 41st Breeders' Cup World Championships Nov. 1-2 at Del Mar.
"Keeneland's Fall Meet is a thrilling celebration of Thoroughbred racing's brightest stars competing at the highest levels of our sport," said Keeneland President and CEO Shannon Arvin. "With our beautiful fall landscape as the backdrop, the atmosphere at Keeneland creates an experience for our horsemen and fans that is second to none."
This fall, The Hill is open for tailgating on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the meet. Fans can watch racing and football via a jumbo TV and place their bets in a wagering tent while live music and food trucks create a festive atmosphere.
For those who want to elevate their experience, Keeneland has partnered with RevelXP to offer tailgate packages for groups of any size. Whether a party of 10 or 750, RevelXP can organize your tailgate by furnishing a designated tent, catering, amenities and more.
Additionally, simulcast wagering on Keeneland's Fall Meet is available at Red Mile, where admission and parking are free.
