Hill 'n' Dale Farms at Xalapa announced Aug. 5 that its Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale consignment will feature a unique offering in Tyson , a son of multiple leading sire Tapit and a regally bred Canadian champion. The 5-year-old is a unique offering in that Tapit's graded stakes-winning sons at stud include the likes of Flightline , Constitution , and Essential Quality , to name a few.
A winner at first asking at Gulfstream Park for Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher, Hill 'n' Dale's multiple graded stakes-winning homebred would go on to compile a 4-1-2 record 10 starts. Following decisive wins in the Dominion Day Stakes (G3) and the Seagram Cup Stakes (G2), Tyson placed third in the Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (G1) at Saratoga Race Course. He would be named champion older male in Canada.
From the Hill 'n' Dale foundation family of 2007 Broodmare of the Year Better than Honour, Tyson is out of the winning Smart Strike mare Honouring, a full sister to Hollywood Starlet Stakes (G1) winner Streaming. His female family recommends him as a stallion prospect. Counted among the many graded stakes and classic winners in his immediate pedigree is last year's Belmont Stakes (G1) and Travers Stakes (G1) winner and Eclipse champion 3-year-old colt Arcangelo , who took up stud duty at Lane's End near Versailles, Ky.
Tyson is available for inspection at Hill 'n' Dale near Paris, Ky.
