Dominant Dubai World Cup (G1) winner Laurel River retains his spot as the highest-rated horse in Longines' recently published World's Best Racehorse Rankings. Bred in Kentucky by Juddmonte, Laurel River boasts a rating of 128, three pounds more than the second-ranked horse, King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes (G1) victor Goliath .
The Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings are based on performances of horses aged 3 years and older who have raced between Jan. 1-Aug. 4. These rankings are determined by the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings Committee and published by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities.

Two United States-based runners, Dornoch and Thorpedo Anna , recently joined the rankings. Dornoch ascended to the top of the North American 3-year-old male division after scoring back-to-back wins in the Belmont Stakes (G1) and Haskell Stakes (G1). The Danny Gargan-trained colt, a son of Good Magic , was victorious in the Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) earlier this year. Dornoch currently shares a ranking of 121 with seven other horses, including recent Jim Dandy Stakes (G2) winner Fierceness , National Treasure , and Senor Buscador .
Thorpedo Anna, the current division leader among sophomore fillies, was given a 120 ranking by the committee. Trained by Kenny McPeek, the Fast Anna filly remains a perfect 4-for-4 this year with victories in the Kentucky Oaks (G1), Acorn Stakes (G1), and Coaching Club American Oaks (G1).
