Troy Johnson and Maritza Weston's Win N Your In became the first stakes winner for first-crop stallion Win Win Win in taking the $95,000 Sharp Susan Stakes at Gulfstream Park Aug. 10 by 4 3/4 lengths.
Win Win Win, who captured the 2020 Forego Stakes (G1) at Saratoga Race Course and set the seven-furlong track record at Tampa Bay Downs in winning the 2019 Pasco Stakes in 1:20.89, is represented by four winners already this year. Among these is Nooni , a $1.8 million purchase, who hours after Win N Your In's achievement, took the Sorrento Stakes (G3) Saturday at Del Mar.
A Live Oak homebred who made $601,600 in capturing five of 12 starts, Win Win Win is a son of group/grade 1 winner Hat Trick. Win Win Win stood the 2024 breeding season for $5,000 at Ocala Stud in Florida.
Win N Your In broke sharply but settled in third, a length off the early pace in Saturday's race. She then bravely slipped inside pacesetter Wiggle An' Wine before asserting her superiority down the stretch. Win N Your In ran six furlongs in 1:11.30 under under Miguel Vasquez. She paid $3 to win.
"She really delivered today. I didn't want her on the lead. I told Miguel, 'There are horses in the race with speed. Let them go to the lead and sit in the pocket,'" trainer Carlos David said. "I was a little worried coming into the turn. He really didn't have much room, and he kind of forced her. They nicked her a little bit on the knee, but it's not a big deal. It's just superficial. Once she got through the hole, I saw him drop his hands and she was just cruising."
Wiggle An' Wine, the 2-1 second betting choice, finished second, two lengths ahead of a rallying Bee a Queen . All three fillies are eligible for the lucrative Florida Sire Stakes program.
With a series for males and females, the first of these upcoming races is worth $100,000 at six furlongs, the second is $200,000 at seven furlongs, and the finale is for $300,000 over the route distance of 1 1/16 miles.
"We're trying to aim for those Florida Sire Stakes races, and they get longer and longer. The longer they go, the better it is to rate. She's doing it on her own," said David, who saddled three winners on Saturday's card. Vasquez also won three races.
Win N Your In was a bargain find at the Ocala Breeders' Winter Mixed Sale in 2023, where Weston Thoroughbreds bought her as agent for Johnson for $12,000 from the Summerfield consignment. The Marion Montanari-bred dark bay or brown filly is the second stakes winner for her dam, the Yes it's True mare Hello Rosie .
The Sharp Susan was Win N Your In's second consecutive victory after a debut third.
