Filly is First Winner for Albertus Maximus

Grade I winner and Central Kentucky stallion Albertus Maximus   had his first winner July 5, when first-time starter My Heart Goes On went gate to wire to win the second race at Emerald Downs
 
Albertus Maximus, an 11-year-old son of Albert the Great  —Chasethewildwind, by Forty Niner, stands at Sheikh Hamdan's Shadwell Farm near Lexington, where his fee was private in 2015. He has 51 2-year-olds in his first crop. 
 
Coal Creek Farm's homebred My Heart Goes On won by 2 1/2 lengths as the 8-5 favorite in the 4 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race for 2-year-old fillies. Trained by David Martinez, the Washington-bred finished the trip in :51.68. Her dam is the winning Value Plus mare My Untamed Heart
 
Albertus Maximus, a half brother to 2015 Champagne (gr. I) winner Daredevil, won the 2009 Donn Handicap (gr. I) and the 2008 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile after setting a Del Mar track record for a mile on Polytrack in the Windy Sands Stakes. Overall, he won or placed in 11 of 17 races and earned $1,328,230.
 
Under Shadwell's breeder incentive program for Albertus Maximus, whose start at stud was delayed until 2012 after he was injured 2009 Dubai World Cup (UAE-I), Coal Creek Farm will receive a $5,000 bonus as the breeder of his first maiden winner. Shadwell will award a $10,000 bonus to the breeder of the stallion's first black-type winner.
