Demand was continuous throughout the day, supported by a strong presence of French trainers. Approximately 30 of them made purchases, including Pascal Adda and François Renaut, Xavier Blanchet, Joël Boisnard, Yoann Bonnefoy, Alessandro Botti, Pia Brandt, Mathieu Brasme, Simone Brogi, Adélaide Budka, Patricia Butel, Nicolas Caullery, Stéphane Cerulis, Fabrice Chappet, Richard Chotard, Philippe Decouz, Henri-François Devin, Christophe Escuder, Adrien Fouassier, Charles Gourdain, Francis-Henri Graffard, Carlos and Yann Lerner, David Morisson, Lucie Pontoir, Marcel Rolland, Jean-Claude Rouget, Laura Vanska, Anastasia Wattel, and Stéphane Wattel.

Following the sale, Arqana president Olivier Delloye and managing director Freddy Powell said, "The day ended with very satisfying results, following on from an historic year in 2023. With 80% of horses sold and an average price of €33,000, it was one of the best v.2 sales since its creation. This sale is now well established in the yearling sales calendar and the very good turnout from French trainers is a testament to this, and we would like to thank them warmly. Many of the yearlings sold today will remain in training in France and we wish them every success in the Arqana Series next year."

Eagerly awaited in the ring, a daughter of Starspangledbanner  (Lot 506) offered from Fairway Consignment on behalf of Domaine de Quétieville was knocked down for €115,000 near the end of Tuesday's session. Bidding on behalf of Arthur Hoyeau, it was Eric Hoyeau who had the final say for the filly out of a half sister to the classic winner Mangoustine  from the family of another classic winner, Flotilla, who took the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) and the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (G1).

"She's a lovely filly that really stood out from the others," said Eric Hoyeau. "Arthur couldn't be here, so he put me in charge of this purchase for a partnership of owners."

Daughter of Siyouni for Al Shaqab Racing

Earlier in the day, bidding for a daughter of Siyouni  (Lot 330) reached €100,000 in favor of Nicolas de Watrigant (Mandore International Agency), who signed the docket on behalf of Al Shaqab Racing. Consigned by Haras des Capucines, the filly is out of the black-type mare Undertake  from the family of group 1 scorer Kinnaird  as well as the talented performers Berkshire and Mickdaam

"We bought her sister last year, and while she hasn't run yet she has shown a lot of potential in training," said Watrigant. "We liked the fact that she seems precocious and she's a daughter of Siyouni. She's been bought for Al Shaqab Racing."
