Keeneland Adds Justify Colt to Book 1 of September Sale

Keeneland has announced that a colt by Justify   that is a half brother to grade 3 winner and multiple grade 1-placed Clearly Unhinged  has been supplemented to Book 1 of the September Yearling Sale, which begins Sept. 9.

Justify is the leading North American third-crop sire by progeny earnings and by number of black-type winners (13), as of Aug. 22. His most notable runner of this year is City of Troy . The 3-year-old colt recently won the Juddmonte International Stakes (G1) Aug. 21 in track-record fashion. He now has career earnings of $3,028,555.

Consigned by Thorostock, agent, as Hip 372, the yearling colt is scheduled to sell Sept. 10 during the second session of the auction. Rock Brothers Breeding bred the colt in Kentucky out of the Smart Strike mare Smart Win , a daughter of grade 3 winner Win McCool, and from the family of grade 1 winners Magnum Moon, Harmony Lodge, and Pinehurst  ; grade 2 winners Diligence, Graeme Hall, and Sparky Ville ; and additional grade 3 winners Win Crafty Lady, Stratford Hill , We the People , First Passage , and Berned .

A total of 4,407 horses have been cataloged to the 12 sessions of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale. The online catalog includes walking videos of yearlings and links to the websites of consignors participating in the 81st edition of the auction, which runs through Sept. 21.
