Golden Horn Tops American Pharoah in Rankings

As far as the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings are concerned, undefeated classic winner Golden Horn is the top horse in the world to this point in the season.

With his victory against older horses in the Coral-Eclipse Stakes (Eng-I), Golden Horn improved to 5-for-5 in his career and surged to the top of the rankings for 2015 races through July 5 with a 130 rating. The 3-year-old son of Cape Cross also won this year's Investec Epsom Derby (Eng-I).

Triple Crown winner American Pharoah had topped the rankings last month but fell to second in the current rankings at 128. The Pioneerof the Nile   colt has won all five of his starts this season including wins at the top level in the Arkansas Derby (gr. I) as well as the three classics.

In the current rankings Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I) winner Shared Belief, with a 125 rating, is tied for third with Able Friend (AUS), a multiple group I winner in Hong Kong.
