Idiomatic Successfully Defends Spinster Title

Completing a banner day for Juddmonte, Idiomatic  successfully defended her title in the $600,000 Spinster Stakes (G1) Oct. 6 at Keeneland with a scintillating frontrunning score.

A homebred for Juddmonte, which landed the Prix de'l Arc de Triomphe (G1) earlier Sunday with Bluestocking , Idiomatic took another step toward claiming divisional honors with her Spinster win. The 5-year-old daughter of Curlin  , last year's champion older mare, captured her second grade 1 of the year for trainer Brad Cox.

Occult  and Candied  completed the trifecta.

Ridden by Florent Geroux, Idiomatic stopped the clock in 1:49.04 for the 1 1/8 miles.

The Spinster is a Breeders' Cup Challenge Series: Win and You're In event for the $2 million Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) Nov. 2 at Del Mar.
