Dragon Flower First Winner for Informed

California-based freshman sire Informed picked up his first winner July 11 when his first starter, juvenile filly Dragon Flower, won her debut by 2 1/4 lengths in the fifth race at Los Alamitos .
Informed, who has 24 foals in his first crop of racing age, stood the 2015 season for $2,500 at Ridgeley Farm in Hemet, Calif. An 11-year-old son of Tiznow —Cajun Two Step, by Tabasco Cat,Informed won a pair of grade II races in 2009, the Californian Stakes at Hollywood Park and the San Diego Handicap at Del Mar.
Joseph Schneider's Dragon Flower is trained by Rosemary Trela and she was guided to victory in the five-furlong maiden claiming race by Alonso Quinonez.
Bred in California by Francisco Gabaldon, Dragon Flower is out of the winning Oly Ogy mare Del Mar Lee.
