As preparations continue for the Nov. 1-2 Breeders' Cup World Championships at Del Mar, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's Top Thoroughbred Poll saw no change in the Top 10.

Florida Derby (G1) and Travers Stakes (G1) winner Fierceness  maintains the top spot, receiving 281 points from the national media who vote on the weekly rankings. The Repole Stable star earned 17 of 30 first-place votes.

Four-time grade 1 winner Thorpedo Anna , who was second by a head to Fierceness in the Travers, continues to sit just seven points behind in second place. She is the only other horse to tally multiple first-place votes, receiving nine.

Other horses who each received one first-place vote are National Treasure   (ranked fifth), Highland Falls  (sixth), The Chosen Vron  (11th), and Forever Young  (14th).

With 14 championship races just 1 1/2 weeks away, it is likely that the leaderboard will remain relatively unchanged for one more week before a complete shakeup following the Breeders' Cup.
