Racing at Pleasanton

XpressBet has agreed to end a financial stalemate with the new thoroughbred meet in Pleasanton by offering Golden State Racing the rate they were seeking. This amicable agreement, encouraged by the California Horse Racing Board, means the wagering platform will begin allowing their customers to wager on the Pleasanton races when racing resumes there Friday.

"I am very appreciative that 1ST Racing agreed to pay a rate similar to that offered bigger tracks in California for the overall good of the state," said CHRB Executive Director Scott Chaney. "They were not obligated to agree to this arrangement, but I am hopeful that this olive branch portends more cooperation in California. It is no mystery that with no purse supplements, we are having a difficult time keeping up with other states. Seeking a solution to the purse issue will require a statewide plan and statewide support."
