E J Won the Cup wins the St. Louis Derby at Fanduel Sportsbook and Horse Racing

Bidding is now open for the E J Won the Cup Flash Sale, a one-horse online auction on Fasig-Tipton Digital.

Bidding will close Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. ET.

This year at three, E J Won the Cup  is a multiple stakes winner and twice graded stakes-placed at five different tracks. He is rounding into his best career form, as his two most recent starts have yielded career-best Beyer Speed Figures and Ragozin Figures.

In his most recent start in the Oklahoma Derby (G3) on Sept. 29, E J Won the Cup closed on slow fractions to finish a close second and earned a 98 Beyer and 8 1/4 Ragozin. Two starts back, in the St. Louis Derby, he took total control of the race from start to finish, setting a stakes record and producing a career-best 101 Beyer and 8 1/4 Ragozin.

His 2024 campaign also includes victories in the Texas Derby and Turf Paradise Derby. He also finished a strong third in the Santa Anita Derby (G1).

"E J Won the Cup is a horse on the rise," said Leif Aaron, Fasig-Tipton director of digital sales. "He is on the improve at the right time, with several important and lucrative races in the handicap division on the horizon this fall and early next year. He's a ready-to-run prospect for some of the sport's most valuable races."

A 3-year-old Kentucky-bred colt by Omaha Beach  , E J Won the Cup is out of Firsthand Report , a multiple stakes winner and multiple stakes-producing daughter of Blame  .  He has current earnings of $620,580.

E J Won the Cup is consigned by his trainer, Doug O'Neill, and is available for inspection at Santa Anita Park.
