Multiple graded stakes-placed Stay and Scam looks to regain her form in the $200,000 Senator Ken Maddy Stakes at 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Del Mar Nov. 1. The 4-year-old Square Eddie filly is coming off a third-place finish in the California Distaff Handicap at Santa Anita Park Oct. 12 for trainer Doug O'Neill and owner Reddam Racing.
She will have to face stablemate Just Nails , a 5-year-old mare by Twirling Candy who is coming off a win in an allowance optional claimer at Santa Anita Oct. 4. Just Nails ran second at the same level Sept. 2 at Del Mar, where she was defeated by Maryland-bred Kissed by Fire .
Kissed by Fire will be looking to continue her win streak at Del Mar for trainer Peter Eurton and owners Commonwealth Thoroughbreds, Exline-Border Racing, Ocean Reef Racing, and Aaron Kennedy. The Friesian Fire filly has shown an affinity for the track, winning her last three starts at Del Mar.
