Hip 147 by Flightline, out of Champagne Lady brings $500,000 at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale

The first weanling (Hip 147) by 2022 Horse of the Year Flightline   offered at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, which started Nov. 5, sold for $500,000 and is headed to Japan.

J.S. Company bought the bay colt and will eventually send him to Japanese trainer Yoshito Yahagi, the conditioner of Forever Young  who was third recently in the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1). The bay colt is out of stakes-placed winner Champagne Lady , an Uncle Mo   full sister to grade 1 winner Mo Town  . Eaton Sales consigned the colt.

Translated by J.S. Company's Keisuke Onishi, Yahagi said: "Flightline is very popular in Japan. I really wanted to purchase a Flightline weanling this time. He was very impressive to us. We saw Flightline at Lane's End, and he is a very special horse."

Regarding the plans for the colt, the trainer said he intends to return to the Breeders' Cup World Championships with him.

Flightline, a son of multiple leading sire Tapit   who stands at Lane's End Farm, will command a $150,000 advertised stud fee next year.
