August in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. won’t be just about racing this year with Retired Racehorse Project announcing today that tickets are now available for Thoroughbreds For All Saratoga. An event to educate people about careers after racing for Thoroughbreds, the event will be held on Aug. 4 at Traylor Stables and The Parting Glass.
The event will feature presentations by Rosie Napravnik, Michael Matz and eventers Jennie Brannigan and Laine Ashker among others. In addition to the presentations, those attending the daytime event have the opportunity to visit a marketplace of ex-racehorsess for sale and to take a look at the horses in training for the Thoroughbred Makeover to be held at the end of October.
FULLBACK AND JORDAN PRUIKSMA WILL BE TAKING PART IN THOROUGHBREDS FOR ALL SARATOGA

Laine Ashker, who won the American Eventing Championships in 2013 on Thoroughbred gelding Anthony Patch, will be holding a demonstration at Thoroughbreds For All Saratoga as she prepares to fly to England in September for the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials. If the pair does well at Burghley, it will help their quest toward the 2016 Olympic Games.
The evening season of Thoroughbreds For All Saratoga will be held at The Parting Glass. Those who presented earlier in the day will be taking part in a panel titled the “Thoroughbred Training Forum.” The panel will talk about retraining Thoroughbreds for careers after racing and the different techniques they use to successfully complete the transition.
Tickets are $25 per person for the daytime event and a $10 donation per person for the evening event. For additional information and tickets, you can visit www.retiredracehorseproject.org.
